Paperwork Organiser

Download The Macro Here

macOS: Sequoia 15.7.2

In this video, I show you how to use my Paperwork Organiser macro, built to help organise everything that comes through during the dailies process.

The macro is mainly designed for lab delivered editorial packages where ALEs, sound, H264s and department paperwork arrive in clearly labelled folders, but it is still useful if you receive paperwork via email. Instead of manually creating folders across multiple backup locations and copying everything yourself, the macro reads folder names, matches them to keywords and sends the contents to the right places in just a couple of clicks.

I explain why it reads folders rather than individual files to keep it as universal as possible, and how easy it is to adapt the paths to your own show. You will see how the macro can adapt to however you name your block subfolders, whether that’s “B1”, “Block 1”, or something else, and what happens if a subfolder cannot be found.

I also cover optional features, including automatically creating empty folders across all your backup locations so you only type the folder name once and can copy files in later if needed, adding extra blocks to the drop down menu, and switching the macro from Copy to Move if you want it to relocate files instead of duplicating them.
