In this video, I show you how to use a simple macro I made that types out the date in a year month day format.

As assistants, we are constantly adding dates into folder, bin and sequence names. I made this macro because it’s almost always something you need to include, and when your mind is in twenty million places at once it’s easy to draw a blank on what the date actually is. Instead of breaking your flow to check your phone, computer or calendar, you can just press a button and the macro will write that part of the name out for you.

The macro works anywhere, and in this video I show you the two main places you would use it, which are Avid and Finder. You can trigger it however you like, and it requires no extra setup beyond that.
